RDRC Council of Commissioners Honors David Munyurangabo’s Remarkable Service
Kigali, Rwanda — On Friday, May 31, 2024, the Rwanda Demobilisation and Reintegration Commission (RDRC) Council of Commissioners celebrated the retirement of Mr. David Munyurangabo, honoring his significant contributions over a distinguished career that spanned more than two decades.
Mr. Munyurangabo, who began his tenure at the commission in March 2001, has been a steadfast figure in the demobilisation and reintegration of ex-combatants, dedicating over 23 years to this vital cause. His unwavering commitment has left an indelible mark on the RDRC’s mission.
At the retirement ceremony, Hon. NYIRAHABINEZA Valerie, Chairperson of the RDRC, expressed deep gratitude on behalf of all commissioners for Munyurangabo’s exceptional dedication and hard work. "We are immensely grateful for your service, and we wish you a fulfilling retirement," she remarked.
The 80-year-old Munyurangabo, in his heartfelt farewell speech, thanked his colleagues for their unwavering support and camaraderie. "To all those I started with and those I worked with until now, I have enjoyed every moment. I will never forget any of you, and I will keep you in my prayers," he shared, reflecting on his long and impactful career.
As a token of appreciation, the Board of Commissioners presented Munyurangabo with a gift bearing the inscription: "Your legacy will always be remembered by your colleagues in RDRC," a tribute to his lasting impact and invaluable contributions to the commission’s efforts.
